Examples include physician services in the emergency department and radiology, certain laboratory tests, and a copy service we use when making copies of your health record. When these services are contracted, we may disclose your health information to our business associates so that they can perform the job weve asked them to do and bill you or your third-party payer for services rendered. To protect your health information, however, we require the business associate to appropriately safeguard your information.
Electrocardiogram
Other diagnostic tests performed at the Alton MultiSpecialists building are EKGs and pulmonary function tests. If a diagnostic test is required which is not available at our building, it is scheduled elsewhere. Minor surgery is performed in our outpatient surgery room.

Alton MultiSpecialists is a team of board-certified physicians in Alton IL founded by the late Chester (Chet) Hill, MD. Dr. Hill opened his medical practice in Alton July 1982. The small cluster of physicians was then called Critical Care Consultants. The following year, Dr. Hill opened his Internal Medicine Practice to all adults. Orthopedic surgeons treat all sorts of conditions that affect and joints including arthritis, tendonitis, and fractures. In order to make a correct diagnosis, an orthopedic surgeon will normally conduct a physical exam followed by diagnostic testing such as X-rays, MRI’s, CT scans, and blood work. Depending on the severity of injury or condition, doctors may recommend surgery to help alleviate symptoms. Some common surgery procedures include rotator cuff surgery, meniscus repair surgery, extractions of teeth that have been impacted into the bone, discectomy surgery for pinched nerve symptoms, and spinal fusions.

In July 1983, Dr. Hill began a search for other exceptional board-certified physicians to meet Alton’s need for more doctors. The group chose the name Alton MultiSpecialists (AMS). As the group attracted more and more patients, it outgrew its location at the St. Clare’s Office Building on Fifth Street. Therefore, Dr. Hill and his physicians drew up plans for a new building at the ideal location of College Avenue and Homer Adams Parkway. An avid gardener, Dr. Hill planned the landscape at the new site and even planted many of the trees and shrubs himself. AMS has since relocated to the new building in September 1994. Modern radiology facilities and lab draw services are housed in the lower level. A spacious north area, the Community Room, was designated for giving educational talks to the community. Dr. Hill saw the need for more Primary Care doctors, so additional internists and pediatricians were recruited to work in the new building.

He served a five-year residency in orthopedic surgery at The Health Sciences Center in Winnipeg. Dr. Rogalsky has extensive experience in sports medicine, knee and hip reconstructive surgery, spinal surgery and pediatric orthopedic problems.

Orthopedic surgeons are one of many types of doctors who perform surgery on patients with disorders and diseases related to the bones, muscles, ligaments, tendons, and joints in the human body. In order to become an orthopedic surgeon, one must first complete a bachelor’s degree from a college or university followed by four years in medical school. After obtaining a medical degree, an applicant will spend five years in an internship and residency program where they learn more about treating common musculoskeletal problems such as joint pain and sports injuries. Once finished with their training, a doctor can choose to practice privately or teach at a medical school.
