        Didn't feel safe

        This hotel was beautiful and we were impressed when we checked in despite the fact that there were 3 cops in the lobby dealing with some sort of domestic violence issue. We had an issue too though when we attempted to sleep in one morning and the maid decided that she wanted to clean the room. Even though we had a "Do not disturb" sign on the door, she proceeded to call our room and told us she wanted to clean it. It was our first night in the room and we had booked for several days. It was still morning and really was not that late. We told her to come back around noon and that we would be up and dressed and out of the room at that point. She hung up and 2 minutes later proceeded to knock loudly on our door until we opened. Even though she was told when the door opened that she could not come in, she proceeded to argue that she had to come in and pushed inside and began to clean despite the fact there was someone in bed not dressed yet. She refused to leave and we had to call the front desk, who just said it was a language barrier (it wasn't it). They sent us a bottle of wine (we don't drink) with a note saying "sorry about incident".
