Overall

I have had pretty quick service at their new location and the doctors have been good. The front desk has been frustrating though. A couple months ago I called to request refills on my prescriptions. The same prescriptions I have been on for over a year. They could not find my prescriptions in the database in order to refill them. Recently I called to ask if I could take a certain over-the-counter drug without interaction with my prescriptions. They said she would have a doctor return my call. That never happened. A few days ago I went in for an appointment. They had made the appointment with the wrong doctor and the specialist I was there to see did not even work that day.

I will never set foot in this ...

I will never set foot in this practice again.

They accept walk-ins, which means there is no point in making an appointment. If you DO make an appointment, you will be waiting at least 30 minutes to be called, no matter what. Once you see the nurse and they get you checked in, you will wait another 30 minutes in the exam room for the doctor to arrive.

If you need lab work, that will be another 30 minute wait, except this time it's in a chair in what seems to be a file storage room. If you get an EKG, it is literally in a file storage area. You will be surrounded by accordion folders and file cabinets, piled up to the ceiling.

After your lab work is complete, you'll have to flag down a nurse and ask them what you're supposed to do next. This is the only way to accomplish anything--you have to speak up, or else the too-busy staff will pass you by. They don't care. They also make you carry your own paperwork around everywhere, because they'd easily lose it in their mess of an office otherwise. Also, I have TWO SETS of medical records on file there because they can never spell my name right, and I have to fill out a medical history form every single time I visit. Why? My guess is terrible organization and record keeping.

So, when your test results are finally available, your doctor will be on vacation, so you'll have to wait another three weeks to actually find the results. This is problematic if, say, you are on a deadline from your insurance provider to submit results for a claim! In my case, I told them about my timeline and I was assured by the staff that it would be no problem. Then when I called in for my results on the day they told me to, I was told that I had to come back and see a different doctor to sign off on my forms because my doctor was unavailable. Another all-day ordeal at Beauregard Medical Center, just because they lied to me (or were at least incompetent) about a timeline? NO THANKS.

Just don't go here. It's not worth the headache, and you will spend three times as long as you should any time you visit.

BAD EXPERIENCE

This place has no customer service. I felt everything is about business. I was patient there for about 2 years and did not have any good experience. The staff and nurses are not friendly and the doctor seems not to care. The only reason I stayed with them was that their office was close to my house. Recently I went to get a referral to a specialist and I was told by the office staff that I needed to see a doctor before they could provide a referral due to the requirements of my insurance. I inquired on the wait time and I was told that they were busy and the computers were down. So I figured it would probably take about 2 hours to be seen by a doctor who needed to write on prescription pad the name of the specialist. I called the insurance and asked them about their requirement and the insurance person told me that they didn't require that I be seen by a doctor for a referral. They told me the doctor’s office can fax the referral to the specialist office and I could request that over the phone. Well that did not work out for the office manager. She said that their office policy is that the doctor needs to see me. I guess they needed to get their payment for the 5 min that it would take the doctor to write the name of the specialist. (NOT A PLESANT EXPERIENCE) I got my records and I quit as a patient. I figured that I didn’t need to endure such a hassle.

Service is not their forte

During my first visit, I got there 30 minutes before my appointment and waited until 45 minutes AFTER my appointment before a nurse called me up. She found out that I hadn't yet been sent back to the business office to fill out my paperwork (something I COULD have been doing during my wait but the girls behind the desk were too busy discussing private lives and an upcoming lunch to operate efficiently) so I was rerouted to the BO and then sent BACK to the waiting room for another 30 minutes before I got up and asked when I might be seen. I was sent to the nurses station and she decided to give me a room. The Dr prescribed me a sonogram but the "dr" that does those only comes in for an hour or so on Wednesdays and Saturdays (THAT'S a great gig!) so I made an appointment for the following Saturday.

On the Saturday, I again arrived 30 minutes early and was sent to the waiting room to sit and thumb through a magazine. 45 minutes later the receptionist called me up and told me that the "dr" who does sonograms -- "dr" Hirsani -- wasn't coming in. Just wasn't bothering to come in that day - tough life I guess - but no one bothered to inform me until well after I had arrived. I asked if he did this often and she said "he comes in late sometimes..." Wow. REALLY great gig!
