        The need for a private country club in this section of Northern Virginia has been recognized for years. Recently the opportunity to organize and develop such a facility became available when Evergreen Farm was purchased by Evergreen Farm Development Corporation. This corporation, formed by forty local business and professional men and women, purchased Evergreen Farm with the specific idea of making a portion of the property available for club development. With this ideal site available, a small group of Manassas residents, interested in forming a country club for the area, began meeting and making studies early in the year. Many hours have been spent by this group studying the feasibility of such a project. The results of this group's study indicate that a private country club is needed in the area, the community can support such a facility, and the site available is ideal for development into a country club. After considering many types of organizations, it was decided that a member-owned, non-profit stock corporation was the best type of structure to use in bringing a country club into being.
