Ultrasound
If you choose silicone implants, you may need to visit your plastic surgeon regularly to make sure the implants are functioning properly. An ultrasound or MRI screening can assess the condition of breast implants.
MRI
Mammography
The duration of improvement is variable, and implants may have to be removed or replaced in a number of years. Women considering breast augmentation should be aware that special techniques are necessary to get a reliable mammogram of a breast with an implant, and experienced technicians are not available at all mammography facilities. Ultrasounds and MRIs may help to detect breast lumps or evaluate the status of an implant.
Chemotherapy
Secondary procedures after an latissimus dorsi flap reconstruction can be done in about three months. These may include expander implant exchange, adjustment procedures to improve breast symmetry, and nipple areola reconstruction. As with any type of reconstruction, if chemotherapy is needed, any additional surgery must await completion of treatment. Such additional procedures are typically done as outpatient surgery.

General Surgery
When choosing a plastic surgeon it is important to know the extent of training and board certifications the physician holds. I am one of the few plastic surgeons in the area to complete eight years of surgical training and earn two board certifications in both plastic and reconstructive surgery as well as general surgery. This in depth training I has given me the necessary skills to ensure good health and satisfaction of my patients.
Ear Surgery
Ear surgery offers near immediate results in cases of protruding ears, visible once the dressings that support the new shape of the ear during initial phases of healing are removed. With the ear permanently positioned closer to the head, surgical scars are either hidden behind the ear or well-hidden in the natural creases of the ear.
Mohs Surgery
Beneath the skin, the cancerous cells may cover a much larger region. In these cases, a specialized technique called Mohs surgery may be recommended.
Reconstructive Surgery
All patients are required to meet with Dr. Puri prior to undergoing any cosmetic or reconstructive surgery. At that time, different options will be discussed. Then, you.and Dr. Puri can decide on the most appropriate procedure. All of your questions will be answered. The normal postoperative course and possible complications will be explained. Our staff will then discuss the surgical fees and insurance issues. As initial consultations with Dr. Puri are quite extensive, please allow at least one hour for the initial visit.

Plastic Surgeons

Botox
Botulinum toxin is a purified substance that’s derived from bacteria. Commonly known types of botulinum toxin type A injections include Botox and Dysport. Injections of botulinum toxin blocks muscular nerve signals, which then weakens the muscle so it can’t contract. The end result is diminished unwanted facial wrinkles. Botulinum toxin can be used to help smooth crow’s feet lines, forehead lines, frown lines and skin bands on the neck.
Brow Lift
Another method is to perform a browlift through what is called a “coronal incision” The coronal incision is created from ear to ear across the top of the head, within the hair-bearing skin. The forehead skin is then lifted and any muscle adjustment can be made under direct visualization. The resulting scar from a coronal brow lift is well concealed within the hair.
Eyelid Surgery
Eyelid surgery consists of removing excess fat, skin and muscle from above and/or below the eyes. The surgery may be performed in an outpatient setting under local anesthesia with sedation or general anesthetic. The duration of the procedure is usually one to three hours, depending on whether all four lids are done.
Liposuction
The most common technique involves an anchor-shaped incision that encircles the areola, extends downward and follows the natural curve of the crease beneath the breast. Liposuction may be used to remove excess fat from the armpit area.
Breast Augmentation
After a post-surgical breast augmentation recovery period of 24 to 48 hours and an additional reduced-activity period of a few days, you will likely experience soreness and swelling for a few weeks.
Breast Reduction
Breast reduction removes fat, glandular tissue and skin from the breasts, giving a woman smaller, better shaped breasts. It is especially helpful for women who experience back and neck pain, skin irritation, breathing problems and indentations in the shoulders from bra straps resulting from large breasts.
Breast Lift
Pregnancy, nursing and the aging process take their toll on a woman's breasts, and they eventually begin to sag and lose their shape and firmness. Breast lift is a surgical procedure that raises and reshapes sagging breasts, and (if desirable) reduces the size of the areola. Breast lift combined with implant surgery can enlarge as well as firm sagging breasts.
Rhinoplasty
Cosmetic or functional problems can occur in people of any age. In most cases, adolescents should wait until they have finished their growth spurts before undergoing rhinoplasty, usually at age 15 for girls, a bit later for boys.
Breast Reconstruction
For patients that have had a breast removed from cancer or other disease, breast reconstruction is a surgical option. This can be performed at the same time as the breast is being removed or in a delayed fashion.
Plastic Surgery
Many people believe that all doctors who call themselves “Plastic Surgeons” or “Cosmetic Surgeons” have in fact completed a residency in Plastic Surgery. This is not the case. Anyone with a medical degree can call himself or herself a Plastic Surgeon, advertise as a Plastic Surgeon and perform plastic surgery procedures. Many of these doctors perform procedures in their own surgical facility.
Thigh Lift
Thigh lift surgery reshapes the thighs by reducing excess skin, and in some cases fat, resulting in smoother skin and better-proportioned contours of the thighs and lower body.
Face Lift
Indications for a facelift include sagging facial skin and jowls and loose neck skin. The usual candidates are men and women over the age of 40 years. Performed under either general or local anesthesia with intravenous sedation, the procedure takes several hours.
Neck Lift
Sagging jowls, loose neck skin and fat accumulation under the chin may be corrected with a neck lift. The neck lift incision often begins in front of the ear lobe and wraps around behind the ear ending in the lower scalp.
Blepharoplasty
There are a number of "gray areas" in coverage for plastic surgery that sometimes require special consideration by an insurance carrier. These areas usually involved surgical operations which may be reconstructive or cosmetic, depending on each patient's situation. For example, eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) - a procedure normally performed to achieve cosmetic improvement may be covered if the eyelids are drooping severely and obscuring a patient's vision.
Abdominoplasty
Tummy tuck is a major surgical procedure to flatten the abdomen by removing excess skin and fat from the lower abdominal region and tightening the muscles of the abdominal wall. Appropriate candidates for tummy tuck are men and women with fat deposits or loose abdominal skin that does not respond to diet or exercise, and women with slack muscles and skin due to multiple pregnancies. Older patients whose skin has lost its elasticity may also find improvement. Obese patients who plan to lose weight should postpone surgery.
Breast Surgery
In General - Nothing in this section shall be construed to preempt any State law in effect on the date of enactment of this section with respect to health insurance coverage that requires coverage of at least the coverage of reconstructive breast surgery otherwise required under this section.
Otoplasty
Otoplasty is done to set back prominent ears. In general, this procedure can be performed through an incision in the back of the ear. Permanent sutures are placed to reshape the ear. This is usually performed on an outpatient basis under local with sedation or general anesthesia. The surgery usually takes about 2 to 3 hours. Postoperatively, a bulky dressing will be placed to promote the best molding of the ears. This will be replaced by a lighter dressing within a week.
Scar Revision
Scar revision surgery is meant to minimize the scar so that it is more consistent with your surrounding skin tone and texture.
Body Contouring
Gynecomastia
Excision techniques are recommended where glandular breast tissue or excess skin must be removed to correct gynecomastia. Excision also is necessary if the areola will be reduced or the nipple will be repositioned to a more natural male contour. Incision patterns vary depending on the specific conditions and surgical preference.
Cosmetic Surgery
Cosmetic surgery trips are marketed as vacations, but vacation activities should be avoided after surgery in order to ensure proper healing and reduce the risk of complications.
Dermabrasion
Laser or light therapy causes changes to the surface of the skin that allow new, healthy skin to form at the scar site.
Forehead Lift
Indications for a forehead lift include visible signs of aging, such as deep forehead creases and drooping eyebrows. The procedure involves removing excess tissue and redraping the skin to smooth the forehead and lift the eyebrows.
