Amazing food all around!

I just ate lunch there had the fresh Salmon blackened on a bed of salad. I have eaten there many times before both lunch and dinner. This was probally the best piece of of Salmon I have ever eaten. I have never had a bad meal there. I will eat this again and again.

Ate there both lunch and dinner. Food is outstanding and service is friendly and very prompt and professional. Servings are large and food is generally very rich. Dinner entrees are slightly pricey for the area but are by far the best we've found. Seating is a little strange in that much of the space is in a loft reached by a long steep staircase- ok unless someone in your party has trouble with stairs. Call ahead if that's a problem. However, the loft creates a nice ambience. Favorites are mushroom ravioli, roast beef sandwich, and the daily fish special, as well as several others. Desserts were a bit too rich.

Our last visit was late May 2009. the Spaghetti was outstanding as well as the portion. My son ordered pizza with extra sauce and no cheese, daughter ordered extra cheese, wife an appetizer. All loved the meal. Our drinks were kept full and staff was very accommodating. We will return.

Effina's must have read the last reviews because, when we went, our portions were anything but small! Everything tasted great and we had no difficulty when we made a special order. The alfredo sauce was made fresh and was probably the best I have ever tasted. I wish it was a little bigger though, I thought the restaurant was entirely too small. I will definitely be returning to try other items on the menu!

The best food I have had in Alabama. watch out though...it is rich food. A MUST TRY!!!

I visited Effina's yesterday for the first time. I had the Italian Herb Chicken, green beans and sweet potato, my son got a personal pepperoni pizza and we took an order of fried ravioli home for later. Everything was DELICIOUS!, especially the green beans, except the portion was very small. The pizza was also good; the ingredients actually had taste. The prices were resonable also. Many new restaurants start out good and when they build to were they're serving more and more people, some go down; my hopes is that this one does not.
