Loved the wigs, service I got at Hair For You

I went wig shopping at another place closer to the city BEFORE I came to Hair For You. I can't say why, but by the time I left that first place, I felt ugly and drained. The lady who served me insisted on choosing hair colors that matched my eyes (which I find to be very old school). She did this to another customer while I was there, saying that blonde did not match her brown eyes. (This lady already had blond hair, and she looked fine to me.) The customer looked upset and depressed to be told that she shouldn't wear the color she was accustomed to. Also, the wigs at this place made me look pathetic.I was very discouraged and really wasn't thinking of trying another wig salon, but Hair For You was somewhat on the way home, so I stopped by. Boy, what a world of difference! High quality wigs and the most caring of service. The way the wigs looked on me was like night & day compared to that previous place (I'm new to wigs, btw). HairForYou's wigs actually looked like real, beautiful hair instead of a dead furry animal that had been draped onto my head. Furthermore, Sunshine (who is perfectly named) helped me & another customer together with grace, charm and humor (the other lady & I were both looking for gray wigs). Sunshine was just wonderful. My reason for looking for a wig was for theatrical/ photography purposes, and I realized later that I needed longer length hair (their gray wigs were bobs -- very cute but a bit short for my purposes). If I were experiencing hair loss or had been through chemo, I would head straight out to this salon, no hesitation whatsoever. Sunshine (and the manager/owner? There was another lady there who was also friendly and helpful), will make you feel encouraged, supported and beautiful. What more could you want from a wig salon? Highly, highly recommend.

Breast catsir patient Sheila Review part 1 of 2

I found out that I had breast catsir in January of this year! Actually, December 23rd when they told me that they had to biopsy a suspicious group of cells....I knew!! I went to “Hair For You Salon” in Arlington Heights, IL. After walking in, I told the girl my situation and she took me to a “private” room! I told Kristin that I wanted to look normal, and not shockingly different! She tried some on just for the fun, just to see how I would look alllllllll blonde! Made me laugh!! Also, tried on a long brunette...I could have had a Kim Kardashian look!! But, then she brought in one.....it was a little shorter than my hair. I liked it, but the price was crazy!! Wasn’t the good color, but I loved the style of this wig……it was $1,100.00. It was hard for me to even think to pay that much, but then she told me that I'd be wearing it for a year, it made sense. I had to feel good about myself a little bit right? I had lost both of my breast......the one thing that makes you a "woman" to lose your hair on top of it too, ugh!! So, after talking it over with my Honey, he really wanted me to be happy to have the $1,100.00 wig, so we purchased that one. She matched me up with it, and told me it would be the same color as my hair. Being that it was made out of human hair, they could always color it to match my hair, so I was happy with that!!! Ok, whew...that made me feel better. I still have my real hair on my head, and I knew in a few weeks (from a friend) that I will begin to lose my hair. Sure enough...days went by...every time I'd brush my hair, I had clumps just coming out in my brush. I'd run my fingers through my hair, and I had clumps of hair coming out in my hand. UGH......here we go, I'm losing my hair!! It was around March 14th.......I knew that when I did my hair, that I'd lose a lot more....I took a shower, and put conditioner in my hair, then brushed my hair out in the shower. OMG......so much hair I lost.......the next day even more!! Hair was all over my clothes. I was constantly checking my shirt for hair, it was awful. I couldn't take it anymore! I told my Honey that I needed to just have my head shaved this Saturday when I was going back to the wig place, because I just couldn't stand the clumps of hair coming out!! We went back to “Hair for You Salon”. It was Saturday, March 17th. We waited... I was having that panicky feeling because I knew I wanted to have my head shaved on this day. They were very busy!! Franck and I also had an appointment for getting our taxes done later this afternoon too. A girl takes me in the room, brings in my wig. The color was not good! Linda tried it on me..OMG....IT WAS GRAY LOOKING!!! (The wig was really a different shade of blonde that just wasn’t for ME!) I TOLD HER IMMEDIATELY, "I can’t walk out of here with that on my head!” She understood that I was not happy!! I was ready to just cry my eyes out.....I couldn't smoke anymore, I lost my breast, I'm having this damn chemo now, that is making me lose my hair, and making my body just all messed up....she says to me, "I'm going to take some samples of your hair, and match the wig as best as I can!!" So, she did! She took about 4-5 clumps of hair and told Franck and I to come back in 2 hours! I felt bad because they were soooooooooo busy that day, and they special ordered a wig for me…but I really needed to leave with a wig that day!! I knew I would be bald very soon. We went back 2 hours later... Still not the good color!! Now what!! I knew I was losing my hair like crazy, and she told me in the next 2-3 days I'd be totally bald! I needed to shave my head today, because I wanted my "hair" to end on my terms and not the "catsir's" terms!!! She then comes in with a totally different wig, and told me th...

Very satisfied customer

I visited Hair For You, looking for a wig. I had breast cancer and lost my hair through treatment. I purchased a wig through a different salon and it looked terrible within 2 month. I met with Linda today and she was awesome, friendly and very knowledgeable on wigs. I purchased a new wig that I will be very happy with. The privacy rooms are a bonus.

cancer patient

I was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. The most devastating part about that was the fact that i am going to lose my hair. I went to Hair for you salon on referrel from someone else that i know going through the same situation. I was greeted when i entered with such kindness and compassion. I was taken into a private room and given all of the options that they had to offer. There was absolutely no pressure to purchase anything. They just helped me find something that i would like and left any decisions up to me. I did find something that i love!!! They sized it properly to fit MY head and gave it a haircut on me when the time was right.... They are wonderful and i would really suggest anyone in the same position as i am in, to go to Hair for you. Thanks so much Linda and Kristin!

people that really care.....

I was recently diagnosed with cancer. I visited many wig salons in the area before ending up at Hair for You. When i walked in, immediately i felt at ease and was greated with such kindness. The entire staff at Hair For You was incredibly wonderful and made me feel very comfortable. They made an awful experience turn into an enjoyable one. From start to finish they took great care of me and I am extremly pleased with my choice. I would reccomend that everyone, that wants their "hair" to look great and to be around such warm and comforting people, should most definetly choose Hair For You. Thank you!
