John Christian Salon

The John Christian Salon has always done a fantastic job on my hair. I usually only see my stylist, but I've had several of the stylists in a pinch when mine wasn't available and everyone of them treated me like a special client! I consider an afternoon at this salon to be "me-time" and they always deliver on a wonderful experience! I highly recommend this salon to anyone who is not satisfied with their current hair stylist or salon. They are great, so they are busy, but don't let that deter you....once you go, you'll know you've found your forever salon!

I just had my hair done last week at the John Christian Salon in Geneva, IL, and the whole experience was truly enjoyable! My hair was very drab and lifeless when I walked in their door... When I walked out, my hair was so shiny, perfectly cut and colored, and I immediately call my husband and told him that tonight (even though it was a Tuesday) was date night! I'll be back in 6 weeks to keep the style as beautiful as it is now! Great Staff, great stylists, great salon!

I have been a client of the John Christian Salon for years and here are the reasons why:  

     * I am always greeted by name and offered a coffee, tea, water or pop.  Plus, the receptionist offers to take my coat and then hangs it up for me!

     * The salon is always clean, including the color room, bathroom and reception area.

     * The friendly, sweet salon assistants prepare me for color and offer (again) a drink.

     * My stylist, Roxanne, comes in and we discuss my color....do I want the same highlights or am I wanting something different?  The last time I was in, I decided to deepen my color a bit for the approaching fall season.  I was really blonde, but wanted to return to my natural dark blonde color with some blonde highlights to brighten it up a bit.  Roxanne knew exactly what I wanted and the results were so perfect and natural looking that my friends and family didn't notice at first!  When I told them, they said I looked like I used to years ago before I had gradually gotten so blonde.  They love it as much as I do!

     * And finally, my haircut was awesome and Roxanne finished my style so well that it lasted for days!  The best part about my haircut is that I am able to blow it dry and style it easily.  The perfect cut doesn't need a stylist to make it look beautiful!



I have been all over the Chicago area, but this is still my favorite hair salon.  It's been in business for well over 30 years (I first came here in 1987 or 1988.) and the reason is clear...they know how to treat the customers and have a very talented staff that really knows what they're doing!  Plus, they carry a nice line of hair products that is always well stocked and beautifully displayed.  You can call for an appointment and know that, no matter which stylist you're given, you are sure to walk out with a smile on your face and a beautiful hair color and cut!

Went there for the first time last night and (1) they didn't have me down for the type of appt I had called for, and (2) I asked for my current highlights to be toned down for a more natural look and said the current base color was too black and OMG I ended up with even worse!! I looked like bozo...the highlights were even more severe, had stripes in my hair..when you pulled up the sides it was striped colors in bleach, red, black. The first time in years I have cried my hair was so horrible. I went out to a store at 11pm last night to color over it. NO way was I going to work looking like that. AND to add insult to injury, that cost me $102 to look horrible and that was color only -- no hair cut or trim and no blow drying...well a little blow drying of the bangs to see if the color was ok, but it was dark because they were closing up and didn't see it really well until I got home, as we all know, you do the "real inspection" when you get home. Stupid rating requires you to select stars...they don't deserve any, but had to click on one or the review won't submit.
