Mr. Rands served for three years as a deputy district attorney assigned to the Domestic Violence Enhanced Response Team (DVERT). Because of his depth of knowledge in domestic violence laws, Mr. Rands helped develop a training module designed for law enforcement personnel and citizens’ groups in areas such as predominant aggressor, mandatory arrest, law enforcement response, evidence collection and domestic violence trial strategy. In 2004, Mr. Rands received the Colorado Springs Police Department Commander’s Commendation for his efforts in the DVERT program. Mr. Rands also was assigned to a select Special Victims Unit at the District Attorney’s Office where he handled sensitive cases involving rape and child abuse.

Mr. McConkie was admitted to the Colorado Bar in 2008 and served as Deputy District Attorney in Colorado’s Fourth Judicial District from 2008 to 2011. As a prosecutor, Mr. McConkie managed all aspects of heavy misdemeanor and felony caseloads. He joined a private civil litigation practice in 2011 and has helped build Torbet Tuft & McConkie as a trial and litigation law firm.

Hans C. Tuft was born in Sandy, Utah. He attended the University of Utah and San Jose State University, where he graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree. While at San Jose State University, Mr. Tuft received the President’s Scholar Award and the Dean’s Scholar Award, and was a member of the University’s rugby team. Mr. Tuft attended law school at the University of Colorado School of Law in Boulder, Colorado, where he earned the Jules Milstein Law Fund Scholarship and served on the Board of Editors for the University of Colorado Law Review. While at the University of Colorado, Mr. Tuft participated in the school’s legal aid and natural resources clinics. Mr. Tuft graduated from law school in 2005. After graduating from law school, Mr. Tuft served as a Deputy District Attorney in Colorado’s Fourth Judicial District Office of the District Attorney in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where he handled numerous misdemeanor and felony cases and was appointed to the juvenile crimes unit.
