Mr. Owens is an associate attorney with Senior Counsel Attorneys at Law. He attended Florida Coastal School of Law in Jacksonville, Florida, and was admitted to the Florida Bar in 2009. Mr. Owens assists clients in guardianships and probates and also provides services in the areas of foreclosure defense and bankruptcy. Mr. Owens is active in the community through involvement with the Boy Scouts of America and is a member of the Eagle Scout class of 1999.
Tax Law
He was admitted to the Florida bar in 1987 and earned his master's degree (LL.M) in Taxation from the University of Florida. Mr. Jorgensen started his career with the Internal Revenue Service in 1986 and represented the IRS in both the United States Tax Court and Bankruptcy Courts. After leaving the IRS, he entered private practice in 1990 and represented taxpayers before the IRS and helped businesses and individuals in commercial and tax matters. In 1997, he established a legal clinic in Jacksonville, Florida, to teach law students about elder law. Today, after leaving teaching, Mr. Jorgensen represents clients by assisting them with durable powers of attorney, health care surrogates, asset protection, living wills, living trusts, last wills and testaments, special needs trusts, estate/transitional planning, obtaining public benefits including Medicaid, business entity choices and succession, federal tax controversy (at both audit and collection levels), bankruptcies, guardianships and probates.
